Memory Lane

This page is dedicated to past cats/kittens and their new owners.  Some of these cats were in my breeding program.  All are cherished pets today.  Thanks to their owners for these photos!

Silmarilions Ivrin Paulina
was my first ragdoll queen and was actually imported from Italy!  She is great-grandma to Ginger and now brings joy every day to her family in Odessa, TX.

Purrla's Jasmine
rules the hearts and hearth of a Los Alamos, NM family.

Purrla Maximillian of Colleesdolls  is king at Colleesdolls Cattery in OR and is Ginger's grandfather!

purrla's Daisy (left) and Purrla's Timmy live as cherished members of the Collazo family in NY.   Thanks to Maria Collazo for capturing this precious moment!

Champion Ragleby's Bridget Jones is living the good life and rules the nearby Saavedra household.

QUADRUPLE GRAND CHAMPION EARTHANGELS DANDELION OF BLUEROCK is a gorgeous foundation male for my dear friend, Grace Bluerock.  Thanks for showing and loving Dandy, Grace!  Dandy is the product of a joint effort between Purrla Ragdolls and the Earthangels cattery of California.

PURRLA'S DOLLY is Holly's sister.  She lives like a queen at the Jimenez residence in nearby Deming, NM.

Regional Winner, Supreme Grand Champion Alter Dandenong's Giorgio of Purrla
was my first ragdoll.  Sadly, he crossed the Rainbow Bridge.    On our travels together to TICA shows we made many friends and created many fond memories.  Giorgio, you are dearly missed!

"Whoa!  She's HUGE!," says Christian, who is holding MOCHA, who's the center of attention at the Ortiz household.

 Start spreading the news!

Even Steven is cherished by Denise in NY.

DANDENONG'S SASCHA OF PURRLA

Sascha sired his first litter at the age of 2 1/2 years, but his first litter was definitely worth the wait!  He was an excellent foundation male and his contributions to the Purrla dynasty have been nothing less than monumental.

In 2004 he was retired from my breeding program so he could lead a wonderful life as king of Jeanne's home.  His legacy endures in his beautiful son, RW, SGC Purrla Merry Andrew.

QUADRUPLE GRAND CHAMPION
DOLLHOUSE BETSY OF PURRLA

Betsy is a seal bicolor who captivated spectators and fanciers alike with her showgirl antics and was a delight to campaign.  She has striking markings, a low-maintenance moderate coat length, and excellent overall comformational balance.

Her first litter produced my first home-bred regional winner, GC Purrla Noah.  She is also mother to RW, QGCA Purrla I B Zorro and RW, SGC Purrla Merry Andrew.

COLLEESDOLLS CAMILLE OF PURRLA

HCM negative 01/05, 07/06

Camille is a seal point who produced many wonderful kittens, some of whom are pictured here:  Ethan, Lucy, Ellie, Rocky, Ben, Aurora, Nikko, and Bella, to name a few!  She is also mother to Ginger, one of our current queens, Troy, a stud at Lottarags Ragdolls, and Ashley, a foundation queen of Turtledove Ragdolls.  She comes from ancient bloodlines, which might explain why her babies have been so loving and floppy.   Camille now lives with Gwen and Randy in Alamogordo, NM, but she will forever be in our hearts!

PURRLA ETHAN OF MEWLANROOGE

Ethan is Jill Edwards' constant companion.   "He's a purr machine!!"

LUCY  lives in TX but vacations with extended family in NC.  She's a great traveler and ultimate feline companion for Elizabeth!  What a great life she has!  Thanks, Elizabeth, for loving one of our sweet babies.

CHA PURRLA SONIC BOOM
resides with Gordon and Eiko Poy in Suisun City, CA.  He has always been my favorite kitten and I am so glad he's still a part of my family!

PURRLA ELLIE OF KARANCHOE

Ellie now charms Karen in Ontario with her beauty and grace!

PURRLA'S ROCKWELL HUCKLEBERRY

Rocky lives with the Shears in Las Vegas.  He keeps his Persian buddy, Hershey, lively.  He was the chowhound of the litter and grows in leaps and bounds with every photo.  He is pictured here at 2 years of age, and he is so gorgeous!  Thank you, Kora, for keeping in touch!

PURRLA TROY  OF LOTTARAGS he has been purring, licking faces and making muffins since he landed in Boston.  He ran right out of the carrier and into Denise's arms.  Like his sister, Ginger, he really soaks up the attention.  Now that's what I call a happy camper!   Troy is currently being shown in CFF and CFA and now has a legion of fans.  I hope he blesses Denise with beautiful, sweet kittens starting in 2007.  Newsflash:  Troy has now sired an amazing 11 CFA Grands and 1 TICA Supreme Grand Champion!  We now proudly have one of his wonderful sons, GRC Lottarags Truro!

QUADRUPLE GRAND CHAMPION ALTER
2005-2006 SOUTHWEST 17TH BEST ALTER

PURRLA I B ZORRO OF TURTLEDOVE
lives with Shelly Hadlock and her menagerie in Los Alamos.  Zorro is now retired from the show ring, but has had a great show career.  He granded in TICA in one show and is  grand-pointed in CFA.   Zorro is pictured here at 18 mos of age and below as a baby.

PURRLA EMMY  brings joy to the Franks in PA.  She splits her time between the beds of Julie and Alexis and sometimes plays dress-up with doll clothes.  This lovely girl is Zorro's sister (above).

TICA'S 2ND BEST BLUE POINT RAGDOLL 2003-2004
QUADRUPLE GRAND CHAMPION
PURRLA'S PHOEBE OF EARTHANGELS

Phoebe is my first home-bred champion. I saw many wonderful qualities in this blue point girl early on:  gorgeous eyes, impressive size and boning, steel blue matching points, lovely profile, and super-sweet personality.   She now resides in Southern California.

Purrla Buddy is making a shopping list now that the fridge has been made spotless.  This gorgeous kitten is pictured in true character, at the age of 7 months.  He resides in Surprise, AZ with Nancy and Nancy's dad!

REGIONAL WINNER
GRAND CHAMPION
2003-2004 SOUTHWEST 16TH BEST KITTEN

 PURRLA NOAH

Noah now lives with Bernie in Everett, WA.  He will teach Bernie the simple art of living large without breaking a sweat.

Here's what Angela has to say about her new kitten, Ben:
"He definitely loves to be around people.  Even if he is asleep in one room, you can bet not two minutes will go by for him to follow you to wherever you've gone.  He is very purry especially in the morning.  I now have a new alarm clock that goes off at 6:00 am!  He sleeps above my head on my pillow and purrs loudly while making muffins in my hair.  In addition to this, he has to get his face next to mine, and most times tries to nurse on my nose or ears!  Even when I pull the covers over my face he manages to find a way back in!    He is growing more floppy as time goes by.  When you pick him up he just flops his legs open like jelly.  He has done very well with visitors and my daughter Alora. "

PURRLA AURORA OF COLLEESDOLLS

After two long years, I am able to present this gift to my friend, Colleen.  Aurora is a gorgeous example of a seal lynx mitted female.  She is perfectly marked, has the ideal coat length and texture, and has a wonderful personality.  I hope that Aurora brings as much joy to Colleen as her dam, Camille, has brought to us!

NIKKO (L) AND SCOOTER are best buddies, and are Tom and Shannon's furkids!  They live in Albuquerque.

CHAMPION PURRLA ASHLEY OF TURTLEDOVE
Ashley is a sweet-faced blue mitted girl who lives in Los Alamos, NM with her Uncle Zorro (pictured above) and Shelly.   She is a foundation queen for the Turtledove cattery.

PURRLA ASLAN OF RAGSINK recently moved to AZ to join the Gorskis' Ragsink cattery.   He can't be photographed with his mouth closed because he always chatters his teeth when he's got his eye on the teaser!  Aslan is siring beautiful kittens.

PURRLA BELLA lives in the Dallas area with her brother, Ben (pictured above), a little lady named Alora, and Angela and Derek!

PURRLA SOLOMON
lives in CO with his kitty buddy, Sebastian, and Sandy!

CHAMPION PURRLA MERRY ANNE

Annie is a very playful and personable blue bicolor girl.  She has gorgeous markings, beautiful blue eyes, and the sweetest face.    She and her daughter, Sapphire, are now owned and loved by Peggy, right here in Albuquerque.   I visited them shortly after they moved in with Peggy and was greeted so warmly I'll surely re-visit before too long.

DOUBLE GRAND CHAMPION SOULMATES PIED PIPER is now retired and now lives with the Robinsons in MT.  She is a breathtakingly beautiful seal bicolor girl who continued her show career after she had her first litter here.  Piper is one of the neatest kitties we've ever had the joy of having.  Really vocal and into everything we did.  She is the mother of Denim and Diamonds (DeeDee), our lovely blue mitted future mom.  Her other beautiful children, all by RW, SGC Chatandolls Sora of Purrla, are pictured below.

PURRLA SASHA
lives in Albuquerque, with her brother, Boots, and the Garcias.

TANNER lives with Kristin in TX.  As you can see, he has made himself at home!  Doesn't he look good on that sofa?

TALULLULAH (LULU)  just went home with the Feldmans and is making herself at home in Santa Fe.  She is a good girl, and knows how to keep her humans happy!  Actually, I think she's just got the Feldmans well-trained!  SHHH!

PURRLA MR. BIGGLESWORTH now lives with Mike and Dinah in Pensacola, FL.  Here's a quote from Mike one week after Bigglesworth joined their family:  "Just wanted to let you know that Mr. Bigglesworth has adapted quite nicely to his new home and my wife says he is the sweetest kitten she has ever seen."  Thanks for the high praise!

VEGAS lives with Diana and Rounder, who's also a ragdoll, in Las Cruces, NM!

CALVIN has gone to the home of Cindy in Midland, TX.  He has been home for 2 days now and this is what Cindy has to say:  "Calvin is just awesome.  He is so sweet.  He slept almost all the way home.  I think that he is starting to acclimate and he follows me from room to room.  When we are not in the same room, he is calling to me.  I am already very attached to him.  He is a great companion.  Again, thanks for such a wonderful kitty. "

Here is a wonderful story about how Carol and ARIEL found each other:  "My heart was empty since losing Pepper.  He was my buddy and sidekick for many years.   I visited several shelters in the area looking for that special face and eyes that would capture my heart.  I saw many cute animals but none that said 'take me home forever.'  For years I have had a fascination with the ragdoll cat.   I started searching online to read more about the breed and to look at the pictures of the various colors.  I was attempting to click on a site in North Carolina when I accidentally clicked on NM...and an enlarged head shot photo appeared of the most adorable ragdoll kitten...and she stole my heart!  I kept looking at her and showing her photo to my family and friends.  They convinced me to contact you and "talk" about the kitten.  It was my downfall:)   I felt a connection with you and the sense that this was the kitty I had been looking for.  The rest is history.

Ariel is everything and MORE that I was looking for in my forever kitty.  She is adorable, soft, loving, playful, healthy, and a joy I can't adequately express.  She makes me laugh in the morning with her antics and purrs, and repeats the process at bedtime!  I couldn't be happier.  Her personality is unfolding daily and she is my constant shadow!  (She can also be very naughty!)

I am thankful I found your cattery.  I never planned on trying to get a kitten long-distance, but somehow I felt this one was right.    Ariel has such a gentle, loving disposition.  I never thought I would be fortunate to find another 'love' like Pepper.  Ariel truly is my Angel Baby.  Thank you for bringing her into my life and for raising such a happy, healthy animal."

UPDATE:  Ariel's got a little brother!   They are as thick as thieves and now have adventures together.  Thanks for providing a great home for two of our babies, Carol!

SOPHIE has just joined the Martins in Las Cruces, NM.  Her new mommy says that she hasn't been there a week and she's already made herself at home and befriended their Maine Coon, Reggie.

Sophie all grown up!

This pretty girl is JASMINE.  At the time of this picture she had been living with Kristy in the Atlanta area for about 6 weeks and she has really blossomed.

This adorable gent is PURRLA AMIGO OF CATBIRD.  He is a beautiful boy with an exceptional ragdoll temperament.  He will attend shows and sire beautiful babies in the near future in Houston, home to Brenda and her beautiful ragdolls.

This is a sweet picture of Amigo's littermate, WINSTON, and a canine friend.  Both are adored by Linda in the Phoenix area.

KILEY  (top) has gone to live in Carlsbad, NM with Michele, and has quickly befriended Akila the Siberian (bottom), as well as Jazz the ragdoll, and Tippy Tee, the domestic shorthair, who couldn't wake up in time for the photo shoot.

REGIONAL WINNER, SUPREME GRAND CHAMPION CHATANDOLLS SORA is now retired and living in Denver with Jen.  He produced many wonderful babies for us during his time as our main male.  He came over the border from Canada to be with us in 2004 and we'll miss him, but his legacy lives on in his beautiful daughter, DeeDee.

PURRLA'S PRECIOUS OF LOTTARAGS  lives in MA with Denise and Leonard Cuzzupe.  She is going to be their new show baby, and eventually a breeding queen for them.  Not only is she beautiful;  she is also very loving.  Thus the name!  Her mother is Lottarags Tiffany Blue of Purrla, so Lottarags is welcoming a 'grandchild' back home.

CHASE lives in Denver with the Ihaia family.  He quickly made two-legged and four-legged friends!   Thanks for the wonderful photos, Janib!

PURRLA'S CHARMING LORD MOUSSA OF KISSYKAT
is the son of Lottarags Tiffany Blue and RW, SGC Purrla Merry Andrew, and he looks just like his father.  He now lives with Kathleen Burke in MI and will be a future King for her cattery.  I hope that he will sire outstanding kittens in the future.  Thanks, Kathleen, for the beautiful portraits!

PURRLA GEORGIA OF PLANETRAGDOLL is another beauty from Andrew and Tiffany's first litter together.  She is currently being shown by Debbie Stover of Planet Ragdoll cattery here in NM.  Gia has attended a couple of kitten shows thus far and has done very well.

Seal MittedDOUBLE GRAND CHAMPION
PURRLA GINGERSNAP OF CASHMERERAGS

SIRE:      RW, SGC PURRLA MERRY ANDREW
DAM:      COLLEESDOLLS CAMILLE OF PURRLA

HCM DNA Negative

This is one floppy, vocal, spunky girl, just like her mom.  She likes anyone and anything that will fawn over her!   Ginger insists on being held in my arms for hours and hours;  she meows and meows until I pick her up or if I put her down too soon!  She definitely rules the roost, but she commands respect without exerting dominance.  I think it might be out of admiration!  The other cats always bow their heads to her on approach and she returns the gesture by licking their heads and ears.  Ginger has beautiful point color and a gorgeous coat.  Ginger is the result of three generations of the Purrla breeding program.  In these generations I have created a person in a cat-suit; that is the best description I can give of our beloved Ginger!  Not to be outdone by DeeDee, she earned 10 finals at her first kitten show and multiple Bests in championship.  Ginger's kittens have been large, floppy, and very loving.  After having several litters Ginger joined Lorna Kelly's cattery in WA.  We wish her and Lorna the best!

PURRLA DENIM  AND DIAMONDS

SIRE:  RW, SGC CHATANDOLLS SORA OF PURRLA
DAM:  DGC/CFA CH. SOULMATES PIED PIPER

DeeDee  possesses a great body, great boning, phenomenal coat texture, and sweet expression.   She also has a spectacular tail!  Like her dad, she's a blue mitted with that little white blaze on her forehead that makes her extra-special.  She is an awesome example of a female ragdoll and has earned multiple Best Kitten and Best Cat finals by the time she was 10 months of age.   She retired at the end of 2009.  Her daughter, Diamonds and Pearls will carry on her lineage.

PURRLA JOIE DE VIVRE OF HEARTNSOUL

SIRE:    GRC/CH LOTTARAGS TRURO OF PURRLA
DAM:    LOTTARAGS TIFFANY BLUE OF PURRLA

This extra-special seal mitted girl really reminds me of Gingersnap, who is her great-aunt.  Our line of mitted babies is really special to us and I really hope that she goes on to produce great kittens for Carolyn Font of HeartnSoul cattery in VA.

PURRLA'S TATIANA OF MEWLANROOGE

SIRE:    GRC/CH LOTTARAGS TRURO OF PURRLA
DAM:    LOTTARAGS TIFFANY BLUE OF PURRLA

This sweet-faced baby is going to IL to join Mewlanrooge Ragdolls.  She has captivated the heart of her new owner since she was a tiny kitten and shows great promise to being a great addition to Jill Edward's breeding program.  Jill is a longtime friend and I am so happy that she returned to us for another one of our babies.

Blue BicolorSUPREME GRAND CHAMPION
2005-2006 SOUTHWEST 19TH BEST LH CAT
PURRLA MERRY ANDREW

SIRE:  DANDENONG'S SASCHA
DAM:  RW, QGC DOLLHOUSE BETSY OF PURRLA

HCM negative via ultrasound 08/05, 07/06
HCM DNA Negative

Andrew is a near-clone of his father, Sascha.  He has a regal look to him, yet he is very sweet and docile, a perfect gentleman.  Andrew is a big boy, with very substantial boning and a broad head.  He has gorgeous blue eyes, and rich, steel blue point color.  A man of leisure, he enjoys the finer things (good eats, groomings).   He's a real-life Garfield!   He passed his good looks and wonderful temperament on to his kittens.   He has made a great contribution to the ragdoll gene pool through is many descendants, though he sired only 8 litters during his breeding career.  He was taken out of retirement to be shown in October 2008 and not only was he very well-mannered, he earned his qualifying Best Cat in an allbreed ring and supremed.

CATBIRD CLEO OF PURRLA

SIRE:    QGC TEXASDOLLS MAVERICK OF KATYDOLLS
DAM:    CATBIRD'S DOLLY PARTON

HCM DNA NEGATIVE

This fearless seal mitted girl is a whirlwind of activity.   Cleo is turning out to be a big girl that goes totally limp when picked up.  I have to hold her carefully or she will ooze out of my arms.  She has a lovely plush coat and wonderful personality.  I am proud to note that she is descended from our bloodlines and I'm excited to see the kittens that she will produce someday.  She became a mom for the first time in July 2010.  Many thanks to Brenda Hammett for our Cleo.

Cleo has retired from breeding and is going home with our friend, Carol!
